For those who thought i’d blog on V day, then sorry to disappoint you =P But a day after another lonely V day, i’m here to give my $0.02 worth on this latest movie by Jack Neo.
This movie is targeted at bureaucracy and the public sector of sg. It did not focus so much on “niao-ing” the government as i had expected, but still pointed out certain issues very blatantly. I can even relate to some of the scenarios portrayed thanks to my previous experiences.
There’s many phrases/sentences that are funny but makes a lot of sense. Shant put them here in case i spoil the show for some. I think it’s enjoyable the way it’s being put into the movie. Be expected to have a good laugh while watching this movie. Oh also expect some “spoofs” of government logos in the movie as well. Haha.
Though the thing about fann and gurmit exchanging their souls is quite lame, i think the story would have been very different if that’s the case. Probably gave up on thinking of an alternative that could bring across the messages intended for the show. Lol. And of course, certain actions in the movie i think are quite illogical at times but oh well, watching such a movie you should be looking at the messages rather than picking on the smaller details bah?
Picking on smaller details: such as visual effects were just… disappointing. the special effects were totally obvious and fake. doesnt even look a tad convincing other than the fact that u know what it’s supposed to do.
Overall, it’s a movie with local flavour/touch something you do not see every day (luckily). Go catch it if u’ve exhausted your movies (like ghost rider, protege and what have u…)
Rating: 3/5
Showtime: 112 minutes
Opens today (15th Feb ‘07)
hey i watched tu ran fa cai too! haha gd film! jack neo's directorship is brilliant but his films are quite stereotyped. Lots of talking drama, less of action to create impact, but his movies are great to watch. and since his so-called themes revolve around the kind of lifestyle singaporeans are leading, it won't be so much befitting if he uses extensive graphical effects lol.

Posted by stan- at February 22, 2007, 10:12 amIf Louis vuitton bags was good enough for Audrey Hepburn, it should be good enough for most of us: Grace Kelly may have been a fan of Hermes, but Audrey Hepburn was continually photographed wearing her favorite louis vuitton handbags . Some people may say that the lv is played out, but don’t let people who chase labels dissuade you from enjoying a bag that has an important historical place in the lineage of the louis vuitton .
